Small Travel Chest Made in Central Italy in the Late 19th Century, in Pine Wood
This well-preserved and original piece features side handles for easy transportation, metal reinforcements, and a latch lock with hook closures, ensuring sturdiness and protection of belongings during long journeys by carriage, train, or ship.
It has been consolidated, cleaned, and treated with hot wax to preserve its patina and the marks left by time and its adventures.
The interior has been lined with elegant beige velvet, creating a refined contrast with the rustic character of the exterior.
Thanks to its compact size, it is highly versatile: it can be used as a container for objects or books, even with the lid slightly open for a decorative touch. Alternatively, it can serve as a footboard chest or as a coffee table in front of a modern sofa, offering practical storage space for magazines, toys, or bottles, while blending functionality with historical charm.
